What is a Bunkie and why should I get one?

With the changing nature of work, and an increased focus on “home,” finding extra space to manage all of your obligations can be challenging.

Our beautifully designed Bunkies are the perfect way to flexibly expand your living space, without a building permit. They arrive on your doorstep flat-packed and ready to assemble (we recommend hiring a pro to help, but a skilled do-it-yourselfer could potentially tackle the installation). Plus, every Bunkie comes well-insulated, complete with weather membranes, which makes them four-season ready.

From a man cave/she shed to an extra bedroom, office or yoga space, the Bunkie can be whatever you want it to be. 

As the world of work continues to experience major disruptions, working from home has become a “new normal” of sorts for many. No Hassle Construction

You may be thinking - having additional space would be great but what’s the catch? The good news is, our Bunkies are specifically designed to avoid “the catch”. At 97 to 106 square feet (and 97 to 200 square feet in select markets), all Bunkie models avoid the requirement for a building permit. So, you can kiss the painful thought of fees, paperwork, and endless time spent acquiring a permit, goodbye!

All of our Bunkies are made of standard grade Canadian fir and spruce plywood, providing you with quality, structural strength. We can help you find the right installer to take you from pouring the proper footings/foundation to a finished space in just 3-5 days (individual sites will vary based on terrain and access).
